The 1st IfT summer-school on Atmospheric Aerosol and Clouds (IfT: Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research, Leipzig , Germany ) was held during a two week period from 16th till 28th of August 2009. It took place at "Sportpark Rabenberg", Breitenbrunn, Germany (http://www.sportpark-rabenberg.de/), a remote location that had been chosen for the summer-school to create a quiet and inspiring environment in which the students could focus on the lectures and also on bonding within the group.
